welcome to the nordic ballet seminar 28 july-2 august in helsinki

The Nordic ballet schools’ network will organize its next seminar, NBS2025, in Helsinki. The organizer of the 19th seminar will be the Ballet School of the Finnish National Opera and Ballet.

As you know, The World Happiness Report has named Finland as the happiest country in the world, every year since 2018. We celebrate this and the upcoming happy years with our theme of the seminar: A Happy Dancer!

The Nordic Ballet Seminar 2025 in Helsinki will take place from 28 July to 2 August 2025.

We have the pleasure of inviting the students and teachers / staff from the partner schools in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Iceland to Helsinki, Finland. The event is a great continuation of the well-established co-operation between the Nordic ballet schools.

During the week we will find tools of happiness with joyful coaching, happiness-oriented mental-training and cheerful activities.

The happy seminar week offers efficient training together with our glad staff and visitors. The students get to enjoy everyday teaching in classical ballet, ballet repertoire or/and contemporary dance technique and mental training.

The entire sunny staff of the seminar is highly appreciated teachers, with different backgrounds on the dancing field, and with also a tight connection to Finland, and especially to Finnish National Ballet and Ballet School.

Parallel with the students’ course we will organize sessions for the staff members and teachers from the participating schools. These sessions will be accomplished with our jolly guest-visitors, from the field of Mental-coaching, Physio-expertise and the organization of the Finnish National Ballet. During the joyous seminar days, we will learn more about the Body-Image project of Finnish National Ballet and Ballet school, Coaches and teachers´ tools for mental-training – Rockmind-coaching company and how to lead a National Ballet company and a ballet school – FNB artistic director Javier Torres.

how to apply

We ask for the participant list from each school, not later than 24^th of February 2025. Payment of the seminar fee is to be made as one collective payment from each school, not later than 28 May 2025.

In case of normal illness or other cancellation, the fees are refundable only with a doctor’s certificate. Every country oversees organizing the needed documents / vaccinations / insurances etc. in connection with their own participants.
