Structure of the Education System
The dance instruction provided by the Ballet School is divided into two categories: basic education and vocational education and training.
Basic education includes preparatory education, the basic level and the middle level.
The preparatory education lasts two years (AO1-2), the basic level four years (AA3-6) and the middle level three years (NA7-NA9).
After basic education, the Ballet School offers vocational training. It is a three-year program, which prepares the student for the profession of a ballet dancer or further studies. There is no interval screening during the training. Vocational training at the Ballet School is upper-secondary vocational education.
Competence based qualification is for professional dancers who aim at the qualification title. More information can be asked from Outi Eerikäinen, Secretary or Marko Kallio, Principal.
